William
by Sam Revill aged 12

William has been my friend for as long as I can remember, mainly because our mums were friends for a long time before we were even born. It was because we had so much in common that we became such good friends though. We went to mother and toddler group together, the crocodile club, and on lots of other days out. will and sam and matt on holidayAs we got older, we played football and tennis together. We sometimes went bowling or did other things like laser planet. The highlight for me is going to Butlins for a short holiday with William, our Mums and my little brother Matthew. William and Matthew were friends too. William was patient and kind with Matthew. We joined in on all of the activities and just had lots of fun hanging around and playing.

What will stay in my memory is William’s brilliant sense of humour. I would feel really happy when he and I giggled about something on the TV, something one of us had said or just plain accidental behaviour. Sometimes we would get told off for “being so silly”. That for me separates William from everyone else.

Even when I visited William in hospital he was always happy and ready to play. We always had fun!!!

I will miss William forever knowing that we would have grown up being good friends. I’ll never forget him and all the fun we had.
